 In order to improve my film according to the feedback from my peers, I need to change the font used in the credits. I want to find a font that matches the character fonts used by the computers in the film. I could choose either between the Apple ][ font or the Commodore 64 font. I'm leaning towards the Commodore 64 font because it looks more like a typical "8-bit" typeface. I'm going to look up those fonts and download them and test them out in Premiere Pro to see which one looks and fits with the film.

    After I showed the class my film, I was genuinely surprised at how much the class enjoyed it. They said that it was really well done and it flowed well. They really liked the opening scene which gave some background to the film, established the date and made the rest of the sequence make sense. One person really liked the left to right scrolling shots of the different keyboards. Someone also liked the music that was paired with the clips. I got no major criticisms from the class, except one fellow student who suggested that I change the font of the credits and the color of the text. She said that the font and color didn't match the style of the setting, which I agreed with. I remember that I have could find a font that matches the font displayed when using the Commodore 64.       Filming is coming along, but a bit slower than expected. As I've mentioned in the past, filming CRT monitors isn't easy due to my phone camera's shutter speed and the CRT's refresh rate. When I film the monitors, my recording flickers and doesn't look good at all. I have to do many takes and hope that it won't flicker. I've also had issues with background noise. When I get a chance to film, my neighbors are usually making some noise outside that can be heard in my recordings. I have to wait quite a while for the noise to stop enough for me to film the scene.      I've already filmed the first scene last night. It was hard to set my phone up so I could get a top-down view of the tape recorder on the table, but I managed. I think the speech I recorded onto the tape is too long so I may have to edit new audio over the scene later. I have filmed about half of the scenes, and should be able to finish soon and begin editing it together.

    Over winter break, I've completed my room and have gathered all props and set them into place. My father and I have built and painted the new shelf and removed the old ones. I have the woodgrain table in my room now as my desk. I have an incandescent lamp above the filming area to provide a more yellow light. I've made sure to make the area period correct so no modern objects are visible. I've begin to film some test takes, making sure some of my ideas will work together. However, many of the ideas I had will not work due to the 2 minute limit. It will have to be more fast paced than what I was expecting. Music will be the last major part of the production, as I need to put together the film first and create the music around it.

      I have made some new decisions. I realize that the scale of my film will be a bit too much for the time that I have, as well as the 2 minute limit. I've decided to narrow down my props. I will only use the Apple //e an d Commodore 64 as the props, and I will use just the Commodore MPS-802 printer in the final scene. I don't have enough time to fix the other props and make them look the best they can. Some components are hard to find and shipping times are longer than usual. I also need to rearrange my bedroom to accommodate the woodgrain table and the rolling desk my Apple //e sits on. Rearranging my room will take quite a bit of time, as my father and I have decided to get rid of the two small shelves in my room and make a large new one. It will create more space in my room, which I need to have in order to begin filming.

  I am  currently  working on props for my film. I have most if not all what I need to begin filming. I recently  acquired  the  cassette deck for the first part of the sequence . It needed some maintenance, so I spent the day yesterday fixing and cleaning it.  It is now ready for filming. I am still waiting on some cables that I need to transfer  my 8-bit computer  music to my laptop for the soundtrack.  The computers that will be featured in the film need some restoration. The Commodore 128, 1902 monitor, and 1571 drive are yellowed due to age , so I must restore the plastic back to the original light beige, since they should look almost brand new in the film.  I also need to code some fake programs to run on them while I film so they look like I'm doing a lot of work  for atmosphere.  I also need to repair the Epson printer for the Apple //e since a capacitor blew up inside of it and needs replacement.
